More music gems

Since I've been pretty busy lately, I haven't been able to keep up with the blog properly. Since one of my main interests has always been music, I thought I'd share a couple more unheard gems.

If you've never heard American Music Club, you owe it to yourself to look them up. Mark Eitzel, the band's de facto leader is a pretty compelling songwriter, and is responsible for some terrific stuff. Here are a couple (actually three) of my favorites: Western Sky, Firefly, and Why Won't You Stay.

For those of you who are more new school, in an old school sort of way, here's a gem via my buddy DJ80HD's blog: Dio, Aye.

One of the best songs you've never heard

As I've mentioned previously, I used to work at a record store back when they existed. One of the many "albums" (those vinyl objects that they put music on before the invention of the CD, or before you could download it) I discovered when I worked there was the LP "Remember" by the band Doll By Doll. It's a pretty extraordinary piece and this is my favorite song: The Palace of Love

The CD is available at Amazon, Remember.

Dim Criminal Follies

Sometimes it's just better to do the time...

I wonder why someone who was on work release would walk away and put himself into a situation like this. He's going back to jail, and this time for longer than he would've been inside in the first place. And given the situation, things could've turned out a lot worse for him.
